Political accords - emergency management

In Denmark, the overall development of the rescue preparedness is determined by broad political accords – so-called emergency management accords. Traditionally, the accords are multiannual.

The emergency management accords stipulate goals and framework primarily for the development of the national rescue preparedness in the period of time covered by the accord.

The development of the rescue preparedness.
The wording of an accord usually mentions the conditions of the accord – such as the overall development in the accord period, as expected by the parties of the accord, and its implications for the development of the rescue preparedness.

Further, based on this, an accord usually comprises a political order of priorities with regard to the tasks and the development of the national rescue preparedness in the accord period.

Economy and structure
The wording of the accord stipulates the economic framework for the rescue preparedness and may, in addition to this, comprise more detailed instructions regarding the economy. The wording of the accord may further comprise demands for the development of the structure of the rescue preparedness in the accord period. The level of detailing usually varies from one accord to the next.
