Tasks of The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation 

The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) works as a specialized matériel knowledge centre and logistic authority. In co-operation with the Defence Command Denmark including underlying agencies and commands the Defence Acquisition and Lotistics Organisation ensures support on time and supplies to the ongoing operations of the Defence, nationally and abroad. It is the task of the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation to acquire, maintain and further develop matériel capacities for all authorities within the Defence right from tanks, ships and fighters to boots, field rations and pocket knives.

Organisation
The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation is placed at agency level 1 managed by Director Lieutenant General Flemming Lentfer.

The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation has in total around 1,900 employees. Around 1,400 are civilian employees, whereas 500 are military employees.

The agency comprises: 
  • The Commander of the Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation 
  • The Agency Director of the Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation 
  • The Planning and Co-ordination Division 
  • The Legal Division 
  • The Capacity responsible Corporate IT 
  • The Capacity responsible LAND 
  • The Capacity responsible MARITIME 
  • The Capacity responsible AIR 
  • The Supply, Depot and Distribution of the Defence (FDD)
  • The Finance Division 
  • The Acquisition Division

 
Location
Around 850 of the approxiametely 1,900 employees with the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation are placed at the domicile in Ballerup where the organisation works.

The Supply, Depot and Distribution of the Defence has its main depot in Skrydstrup in South Jutland and in addition there are a number of depots all over the country i.a. for the soldiers’ equipment, clothes, rifles, ammunition and spare parts.

Corporate IT has its domicile in Hvidovre, at the outskirts of Copenhagen. Corporate IT runs a number of IT systems, among others the Danish Defence’s common ERP system (DeMars). Corporate IT supports PC’s and users everywhere in the corporation of the Ministry of Defence, both nationally and internationally.
