Denmark is now sending the largest economic donation to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in February 2022. The Danish contribution is in total 5.8 billion DKK.

The Donation package XII is financed by the Ukraine fond and contributes in collaboration with international partners with requested capacities such as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, tank ammunition and anti-craft guns.

The donation package is conditional on grant authorization from The Finance Committee.

“Countries like Denmark has to maintain their military and economic support to Ukraine, as it is essential for their ability to keep defending themselves against Russia’s illegal invasion. Denmark is contributing to this with the largest economic support so far within the framework of the group of countries who, under American leadership, meet continuously at the base in Ramstein,” says the Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen.

The Minister of Defence and the Minister of Foreign Affairs oriented the Foreign Policy Committee about the donation in advance of the meeting in the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in Ramstein.

“With today’s donation package we are entering a new phase. More than one and a half years into the war, we have almost emptied the storages of the Armed Forces. This is why we are now looking into more targeted joint purchases and international collaborations that are tailored to meet Ukrainian needs”, says the Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
